Kodaikanal, often referred to as the 'Princess of Hill stations' is located in Dindigul district of Tamil Nadu and has a long history as a retreat and popular tourist destination. Its name in the Tamil language means "The Gift of the Forest". Kodai is a beautiful hill station at an altitude of about 7000 feet (2133 m) on the southern tip of upper Palani hills.
