Kumarakom is a set of small islands perched on the edge of Vembanad Lake known to be the “largest lake in Kerala” & it is an enchanting backwater destination in Kerala. It offers a scenic view of lush green surroundings and emerald green backwaters of Kerala that is flanked by rich vegetation, wide variety of flora, exotic sightseeing, boating and fishing experience. The bird sanctuary spread across 14 acres is safe home for many migratory birds like Siberian stork, wild duck etc. They live with other birds in flocks such as darters, herons, egret, waterfowls and cuckoos are fascinating sight for the visitors. It is also famous for its aquatic life with Chemeen (Prawns), the Konju (Tiger Prawns) and Karimeen being extremely popular among all our visitors. This scenic destination is best described as beautiful because of its rich environs filled with other beautiful landmarks around the Kumarakom. Here tourists can see lily pads dancing on the shimmering water, coconut plantation, submerged paddy fields and an endless expanse of water with a tinge of blue, green and brown.
